She Married a Sterile Mafia Boss for One Year—Then the Doctor Said She Was Pregnant
Chapter 12
The baby arrived during a storm.
Rain battered the windows of Blackwood Manor.
Isabella had been in labor for fourteen hours.
Adrian paced the hallway.
The doctor finally stepped out.
“Mr. Blackwood.”
Adrian turned.
“Yes?”
“You have a daughter.”
He stopped.
“A daughter?”
The doctor smiled.
“Healthy.”
Adrian’s eyes closed.
He covered his face with one hand.
For several seconds, the most feared man in the city stood silently in the hallway.
Then he laughed.
A real laugh.
His security chief had never heard it before.
Neither had Mrs. Grant.
The door opened.
“You can see them now.”
Adrian entered.
Isabella lay exhausted in bed.
A tiny baby slept against her chest.
Adrian approached slowly.
“She’s beautiful.”
“She has your eyes.”
He looked at the baby.
“I hope she doesn’t inherit my temper.”
Isabella laughed.
“You definitely don’t have to worry about that.”
He sat beside her.
“What’s her name?”
Isabella looked at him.
“You choose.”
He thought for a moment.
“Grace.”
“Why?”
“Because we were given something we were never supposed to have.”
Isabella smiled.
“Grace.”
He kissed his daughter’s forehead.
Then he looked at Isabella.
“Thank you.”
“For what?”
“For staying.”
She shook her head.
“I didn’t stay because of the money.”
“I know.”
“I stayed because I loved you.”
He smiled.
“And I was lucky enough to finally deserve it.”
