She Married a Sterile Mafia Boss for One Year—Then the Doctor Said She Was Pregnant
Chapter 11
The one-year marriage contract expired three weeks before the baby was due.
Isabella found the original document in Adrian’s study.
She placed it on his desk.
“One year.”
Adrian looked at it.
“I know.”
“The agreement is over.”
“Yes.”
She waited.
Adrian picked up the contract.
Then he tore it in half.
Isabella stared.
“What are you doing?”
“Ending it.”
“You can’t.”
“I can.”
He tore it again.
“This marriage doesn’t exist because of a contract anymore.”
Isabella’s heart raced.
“What if I don’t want to stay?”
“Then I’ll let you go.”
She stared at him.
“And the baby?”
“I’ll be his father whether you stay or leave.”
“And me?”
Adrian walked toward her.
“You’ll always be the woman who changed my life.”
Her eyes filled with tears.
“You’re making this very difficult.”
“I’ve never been good at easy.”
She laughed through her tears.
“I love you.”
Adrian froze.
She smiled.
“You heard me.”
He touched her face.
“Say it again.”
“I love you.”
He closed his eyes.
“I love you too.”
Then he kissed her.
Not like a man protecting a business.
Not like a husband fulfilling a contract.
Like a man who had finally discovered the one thing he had spent his entire life believing he could never have.
A family.
