Her Billionaire Father Offered Me ₦1 Billion to Leave Her… My Decision Changed My Life Forever!

Chapter 10

We followed the blood.

It stopped near an abandoned warehouse.

Inside, we found my father.

Alive.

Barely.

He was sitting against the wall, one hand pressed against his shoulder.

I stopped.

He looked at me.

For a moment, neither of us spoke.

Then he smiled.

“You got tall.”

I laughed.

It came out broken.

“That’s all you have to say?”

His eyes filled.

“No.”

I walked toward him.

“You were alive.”

“Yes.”

“You watched me grow up.”

“Yes.”

“You knew where I was.”

“Yes.”

“Why?”

He looked at Richard.

Then at Olivia.

“Because I thought they would kill you.”

I knelt.

“I needed a father.”

“I know.”

“You left me.”

“I know.”

I wanted to be angry.

I wanted to scream.

Instead, I hugged him.

He held me.

And for twenty years of silence, that was enough.

Then he whispered:

“We have to leave.”

“Why?”

“Because the people who came here weren’t after me.”

He looked at Olivia.

“They were after her.”

Richard stepped forward.

“What?”

My father shook his head.

“Victor knows Olivia has the final evidence.”

She looked confused.

“I don’t have anything.”

My father smiled sadly.

“You do.”

He reached into his pocket.

A small necklace.

Olivia recognized it.

“My mother.”

“She gave this to me the night before she died.”

Inside the pendant was a tiny memory chip.

Richard stared.

“My God.”

My father nodded.

“Your mother hid the evidence in the one place no one would search.”

Olivia held the necklace.

“She knew?”

“She knew she was going to die.”

Silence.

My father looked at Richard.

“You promised to protect her.”

Richard’s eyes filled with regret.

“I failed.”

“No.”

My father looked at him.

“You survived.”

He handed him the necklace.

“Now finish what we started.”

We returned to the city.

The evidence was enough to expose the entire network.

But there was one problem.

Victor had powerful friends.

If we released it without protection, we would disappear.

Richard made a decision.

He called a national news network.

Then another.

Then an international investigative organization.

Within twelve hours, copies of the evidence were everywhere.

There was no longer one target.

There were hundreds.

Victor couldn’t silence everyone.

But he could still silence us.

That night, my phone rang.

I answered.

Victor’s voice came through.

“You’ve made a terrible mistake.”

I looked at Olivia.

Then my father.

Then Richard.

“No.”

I whispered.

“We finally made the right one.”

Victor laughed.

“You think money doesn’t matter?”

I looked at the envelope containing his father’s billion-naira offer.

Then I said:

“I learned something.”

“What?”

“Some things are worth more.”

The line went dead.
