Her Billionaire Father Offered Me ₦1 Billion to Leave Her… My Decision Changed My Life Forever!

Chapter 12

Six months later, my mother walked into a new hospital.

Her treatment was fully covered.

My sister received a scholarship.

My father rented a small house nearby.

For the first time, we had Sunday dinners together.

They weren’t perfect.

My father and I still had difficult conversations.

Sometimes anger returned.

Sometimes silence lasted too long.

But he was there.

That mattered.

Olivia and I moved into a small apartment.

Nothing luxurious.

Two bedrooms.

A tiny balcony.

A kitchen barely large enough for two people.

She loved it.

“Your billionaire father-in-law could buy this entire building,” I teased.

“He would.”

“Probably.”

She smiled.

“But I like this.”

“Why?”

She wrapped her arms around me.

“Because nobody gave it to us.”

I kissed her forehead.

One evening, we received an invitation.

Richard wanted us at his house.

When we arrived, he was standing beside a table covered with documents.

“I have news.”

Olivia sat down.

“What now?”

Richard smiled.

“The foundation has acquired three hospitals.”

I looked at him.

“And?”

“And we’ve established a scholarship program.”

“For how many students?”

“Five hundred.”

Olivia smiled.

“That sounds like you.”

Richard looked at me.

“Actually, that’s Daniel.”

I laughed.

“You’re giving me too much credit.”

“No.”

He handed me a document.

My name was at the top.

I stared.

“What is this?”

“Your appointment.”

“As what?”

“Chairman.”

I looked up.

“I don’t know how to run a foundation.”

“You know how to care about people.”

“That’s not the same thing.”

“It’s more important.”

Olivia squeezed my hand.

I signed.

Not because of the money.

Because of what the money could become.
