The Maid’s Toddler Copied the Mafia Boss’s Angry Face—His Reaction Made Everyone Laugh!
Chapter 11
Our relationship changed slowly.
There was no sudden announcement.
No magazine story.
No public declaration.
We simply became a family.
Vincent helped with school.
I worked at the foundation.
Daniel remained close.
He visited Leo every weekend.
There was no jealousy.
No rivalry.
Only trust.
One afternoon, Daniel sat with Vincent in the backyard.
I watched from the kitchen window.
They were talking.
Laughing.
It was strange.
Three years earlier, they had belonged to completely different parts of my life.
Now they were both sitting in my backyard while Leo played between them.
I stepped outside.
“What are you discussing?”
Daniel smiled.
“Parenting.”
Vincent sighed.
“He says I’m too strict.”
“You are.”
Daniel laughed.
Leo ran over.
“Daddy!”
He hugged him.
Then ran to Vincent.
“Boss!”
Vincent picked him up.
“You have two names for two fathers.”
Daniel smiled.
“What does he call you?”
Vincent looked at Leo.
“Boss.”
Daniel laughed.
“Of course.”
Leo pointed at Daniel.
“Daddy.”
Then Vincent.
“Boss.”
Then me.
“Mommy.”
He looked proud.
“We’re complete.”
I almost cried.
Vincent noticed.
“You okay?”
“Yes.”
“Why are you crying?”
“Because that’s the first time he said it like that.”
Daniel looked at Leo.
“What?”
“Complete.”
The word stayed with us.
That evening, Vincent took me to the garden.
“I have a question.”
“Yes?”
“Would you marry me?”
I froze.
“We’re already living together.”
“I know.”
“And you already help raise Leo.”
“I know.”
“And Daniel is part of our lives.”
“I know.”
“Then why?”
“Because I don’t want this to be something we’re just living.”
He took my hand.
“I want it to be something we’re choosing.”
I stared at him.
“You’re not proposing because of the trust.”
“No.”
“Or the foundation.”
“No.”
“Or Leo.”
“No.”
“Then why?”
“Because I love you.”
My eyes filled.
“I love you too.”
He smiled.
“No?”
“What?”
“I expected you to make me work harder.”
I laughed.
“You’ve been working hard for years.”
He kissed me.
Then we heard a tiny voice.
“Boss!”
We turned.
Leo stood by the door.
He was holding a toy ring.
He walked toward Vincent.
“Marry Mommy.”
I covered my mouth.
Vincent stared.
“Who taught you that?”
Leo shrugged.
“Mommy.”
“I did not!”
Daniel appeared behind him.
“You absolutely did not.”
Leo held up the toy ring.
“Marry.”
Everyone laughed.
Vincent knelt.
“Okay.”
He looked at me.
“I think I have competition.”
I laughed.
That night, we told the children.
Leo didn’t understand much.
He just smiled.
Emma, my older niece who had become close to Leo, asked,
“Does this mean you’re all staying together?”
Vincent looked at me.
“Yes.”
She smiled.
“Good.”
The wedding was planned for spring.
Simple.
Private.
No criminal associates.
No business executives.
Just family.
But before the ceremony, Vincent received one final threat.
A photograph of Leo.
The message:
You cannot protect him forever.
Vincent stared at it.
Then deleted it.
He looked at me.
“We’re not afraid anymore.”
I asked,
“How do you know?”
He smiled.
“Because the person who sent that still thinks fear controls us.”
He took my hand.
“They’re wrong.”
