The Maid’s Toddler Copied the Mafia Boss’s Angry Face—His Reaction Made Everyone Laugh!

Chapter 6

Marcus didn’t run.

He simply stood outside the gate.

Vincent went to meet him.

I stayed inside with Leo.

Through the security monitor, I watched the two brothers face each other.

Marcus looked older.

Thinner.

But his eyes were sharp.

Vincent opened the gate.

“Why are you alive?”

Marcus smiled.

“Hello to you too.”

“You’re supposed to be dead.”

“I know.”

“Who knows?”

Marcus looked toward the house.

“Apparently you do.”

Vincent’s voice hardened.

“Why did you disappear?”

“Because our father wanted me dead.”

Silence.

Vincent stared.

“What?”

“He discovered what I knew.”

“About Richard?”

“About everything.”

Marcus explained.

Their father had created the criminal empire years earlier.

Marcus had wanted out.

He discovered Richard was stealing money.

He planned to expose him.

Their father chose Richard instead.

Then Marcus staged his own death.

He disappeared.

For years, he worked undercover.

Daniel eventually found him.

That was why Daniel knew Marcus wasn’t dead.

And that was why the memory card existed.

But there was more.

Marcus had been investigating a deeper network.

Someone above Richard.

Someone who controlled several rival organizations.

Someone with access to the Blackwood family’s financial system.

Vincent asked,

“Who?”

Marcus shook his head.

“I never found the name.”

“Then why come back?”

“Because they found Daniel.”

My heart stopped.

“Where is he?” Vincent asked.

Marcus looked toward the house.

“Alive.”

Vincent froze.

I couldn’t breathe.

Daniel was alive.

After three years.

Alive.

Marcus continued.

“He’s been hiding because he believes Richard will kill Maria and the child.”

I covered my mouth.

Leo looked at me.

“Mommy?”

I hugged him.

Vincent turned toward the house.

“Where is Daniel now?”

Marcus gave him an address.

“An abandoned warehouse two hours north.”

Vincent immediately ordered cars.

I begged him to let me come.

“No.”

“Vincent—”

“You stay here.”

“That’s my child’s father.”

“I know.”

“Then let me go.”

He stared at me.

“You’ll be a distraction.”

My anger rose.

“You don’t get to decide that.”

He stepped closer.

“I am not losing another person because I made the wrong decision.”

I froze.

Another person.

He had already lost Marcus.

Maybe others.

His voice softened.

“Stay here.”

I nodded.

He left.

Hours passed.

Nothing.

Then a call came.

Gunfire.

Vincent and his men had found Daniel.

He was alive.

But Richard had escaped.

Daniel was injured.

And he had one message for Vincent.

“The attack is not about me.”

Vincent returned that night with Daniel in the back seat.

I froze.

Daniel looked older.

Scarred.

Tired.

But it was him.

My knees nearly gave out.

He saw me.

“Maria.”

I ran toward him.

I hit his chest.

Then hugged him.

Then slapped him.

Then cried.

“You idiot.”

He held me.

“I know.”

Leo came running.

Daniel looked at him.

His face broke.

“That’s my boy.”

Leo stopped.

He stared.

Then whispered,

“Daddy?”

Daniel cried.

He crouched.

Leo ran into his arms.

I turned away.

Vincent stood nearby.

He watched silently.

Then Leo looked over Daniel’s shoulder.

He pointed at Vincent.

“Boss.”

Daniel laughed.

“You still call him that?”

Leo nodded.

Vincent almost smiled.

For one moment, everything felt normal.

Then Daniel said,

“Vincent…”

“Yes?”

“Richard knows about Leo.”

Vincent’s expression hardened.

“Why?”

“Because Leo is the key.”

I looked at Daniel.

“What key?”

Daniel explained.

Years earlier, Vincent’s father had hidden ownership documents in a trust.

The final beneficiary was not Vincent.

Not Marcus.

A child.

Daniel’s own son.

Leo.

The trust contained control over several legitimate businesses and community properties.

Richard wanted that control.

That’s why he had been watching us.

That’s why he had tried to find Leo.

My stomach turned.

“Our son?”

Daniel nodded.

“I’m sorry.”

Vincent’s jaw tightened.

“He wants the child.”

“Yes.”

Vincent looked at Leo.

Then at me.

His expression changed.

“No one touches him.”
