He Offered Him a Marriage Deal… After His Pregnant Daughter Was Abandoned

Chapter 1

“Please don’t make me go back.”

Those were the first words Noah Carter heard from his daughter in three days.

She stood on his porch in the rain, one hand wrapped around a small suitcase and the other resting protectively over her swollen belly.

Noah’s heart stopped.

“Emily?”

She looked exhausted.

Her blonde hair was soaked.

Her face was pale.

And beneath her oversized coat, she was almost eight months pregnant.

Noah rushed forward and pulled her inside.

“What happened?”

Emily dropped the suitcase.

“Ryan left me.”

Noah stared.

“The father of your baby?”

She nodded.

“He said he never wanted a family.”

Noah’s jaw tightened.

“He knew you were pregnant.”

“Yes.”

“When did he leave?”

“Three days ago.”

“And you’ve been where?”

Emily looked down.

“His apartment.”

Noah couldn’t believe it.

“You stayed there?”

“Because I thought he’d come back.”

She started crying.

“He packed his things while I was sleeping.”

Noah pulled her into his arms.

“You’re home now.”

But Emily shook her head.

“No, Dad. You don’t understand.”

“What?”

“He took everything.”

Noah froze.

“What do you mean?”

“He emptied our account.”

Every dollar.

The savings.

The money Noah had secretly given Emily for emergencies.

Gone.

Ryan had left her with unpaid rent, medical bills, and a car he had taken when he disappeared.

Noah held his daughter tighter.

“He did this to you?”

Emily nodded.

“I don’t know what I’m going to do.”

“You’re going to stay here.”

“Dad, your house is tiny.”

“I don’t care.”

“You already work two jobs.”

“I’ll work three.”

Emily cried harder.

Noah was sixty.

He repaired farm equipment during the day and drove deliveries at night.

He wasn’t rich.

He barely had enough money to keep the house.

But Emily was his daughter.

There was nothing he wouldn’t do.

Then someone knocked.

Noah opened the door.

A tall man stood outside.

Dark coat.

Expensive watch.

Calm expression.

Noah recognized him.

Alexander Reed.

One of the wealthiest businessmen in the state.

He owned a massive construction and logistics company.

He rarely appeared in public.

“What do you want?”

Alexander looked at Emily.

Then at Noah.

“I need to speak with you.”

“About what?”

“My son.”

Noah’s face changed.

Ryan.

Alexander Reed was Ryan’s father.

The man who had abandoned Emily’s pregnant daughter was the heir to a multi-billion-dollar family business.

Emily backed away.

“I don’t want anything from them.”

Alexander shook his head.

“Neither do I.”

Noah frowned.

“Then why are you here?”

Alexander looked at Emily’s suitcase.

“Because my son has made a mistake.”

“He abandoned my daughter.”

“Yes.”

Noah clenched his fists.

“What are you going to do about it?”

Alexander hesitated.

Then he said something that made Noah think he had misheard.

“I want to offer you a marriage deal.”

Silence filled the room.

Noah stared at him.

Emily looked confused.

“A marriage?”

Alexander nodded.

“Not for you.”

He looked toward the hallway.

“There is someone who needs protection.”

Noah’s expression hardened.

“Who?”

Alexander answered quietly.

“Me.”
