She Loved the Billionaire Since Childhood — Until Forced to Serve at His Wedding!

Chapter 3

The wedding ceremony began at six.

Amelia stood at the back of the ballroom.

She watched Ethan walk toward the altar.

The room was filled with flowers.

Crystal chandeliers reflected against polished marble.

Hundreds of guests stood.

Victoria appeared at the entrance.

She walked down the aisle.

Ethan looked at her.

But Amelia noticed something.

He didn’t smile.

The priest began.

“Dearly beloved…”

Amelia tried to focus on anything except Ethan.

She looked at the flowers.

The walls.

The guests.

Anything.

Then the priest asked:

“Ethan Whitmore, do you take Victoria Langford…”

Ethan paused.

The entire room became silent.

Amelia’s heart stopped.

Victoria stared at him.

“Ethan?”

He looked toward her.

“I…”

Then a loud crash came from the rear of the ballroom.

Everyone turned.

A waiter had dropped a tray.

Amelia looked down.

She hadn’t made the noise.

But Ethan’s eyes immediately found her.

For a second, neither moved.

Then Ethan turned back toward the altar.

“I do.”

The ceremony continued.

Amelia felt something inside her break.

She left before the applause.

In the service hallway, she leaned against the wall and covered her mouth.

She refused to cry.

Not here.

Not at his wedding.

Then someone approached.

It was Ethan’s younger sister, Sophie.

“You okay?”

Amelia wiped her eyes.

“Yes.”

Sophie looked at her carefully.

“You’re lying.”

Amelia laughed weakly.

“I’m fine.”

“Do you love him?”

Amelia froze.

Sophie sighed.

“I’ve known since we were kids.”

Amelia stared at her.

“You knew?”

“Everyone knew.”

“No.”

“Amelia, Ethan used to talk about you constantly.”

Her heart skipped.

“What?”

“He kept your old drawing in his room.”

Amelia shook her head.

“He never contacted me.”

“Because Dad made him leave.”

“Why?”

Sophie hesitated.

“Because our father didn’t approve of your family.”

Amelia’s face went pale.

“What did my family do?”

“Nothing.”

“Then why?”

Sophie looked away.

“Your father knew something about our company.”

“What?”

“I don’t know.”

Before Amelia could ask more, Sophie walked away.

Amelia stood frozen.

Something wasn’t right.

Her family had always told her the Whitmores simply moved away.

But now she was learning that Ethan hadn’t left voluntarily.

And suddenly, the wedding didn’t look like a love story.

It looked like a business arrangement.
