She Loved the Billionaire Since Childhood — Until Forced to Serve at His Wedding!
Chapter 12
One year later, Ethan proposed.
Not at a luxury hotel.
Not at a gala.
Not in front of hundreds of guests.
He took Amelia to a small park where they had played as children.
He brought a picnic.
Two sandwiches.
A bottle of lemonade.
And an old photograph.
Amelia laughed when she saw it.
“Look at your hair.”
“You were worse.”
“I was adorable.”
“You were loud.”
She smiled.
Then he took her hand.
“I promised you when we were kids that I’d take you somewhere beautiful.”
He looked around the park.
“I failed.”
She laughed.
“No, you didn’t.”
He pulled out the ring.
“I don’t want a perfect life.”
She stared at him.
“I want an honest one.”
He continued.
“I don’t want you to be the woman behind a billionaire.”
“I want you beside me.”
Amelia’s eyes filled with tears.
“Ethan…”
“Will you marry me?”
She smiled.
“Yes.”
He slipped the ring onto her finger.
She looked at it.
Then at him.
“Does this mean I get to stop working weddings?”
He laughed.
“Please.”
She hugged him.
And for the first time, the memory of his wedding no longer hurt.
Because she understood something.
She had once believed that loving Ethan meant waiting for him.
It didn’t.
Love meant choosing each other freely.
Without family pressure.
Without business contracts.
Without secrets.
Without fear.
