My Fiancé Skipped Our Wedding for His Assistant — Then I Married the Billionaire Who Had Loved Me
Chapter 12
Natalie’s event company grew quickly.
Alexander never took ownership.
Never attached his name to it.
Never used it as a public-relations project.
He simply supported her.
When a major client attempted to underpay her, he told her:
“Handle it yourself.”
She smiled.
“You really trust me.”
“Completely.”
That trust became the foundation of their relationship.
Then Alexander proposed.
Not with cameras.
Not at a luxury resort.
He took Natalie back to the small office where she had started rebuilding her life.
The walls were covered with photographs of the first events she had organized.
He dropped to one knee.
Natalie’s hands flew to her mouth.
“Alexander.”
“I know you didn’t need me to save you.”
He held out the ring.
“You proved that.”
She was crying.
“So I’m not asking you to let me rescue your life.”
He smiled.
“I’m asking whether you’ll let me share it.”
Natalie whispered:
“Yes.”
He stood.
She hugged him.
For the first time, the word marriage didn’t frighten her.
It felt like a choice.
Not a contract.
Not a rescue.
A choice.
