She Hired a Poor Mechanic to Fix Her Car… Then Discovered He Was a Billionaire!
Chapter 10
Six months later, Emma accepted a position leading the redevelopment project.
Daniel’s company became one of the project’s major investors.
But they kept their professional relationship separate.
At work, Emma challenged him.
Daniel challenged her.
They disagreed.
They argued.
They laughed.
And slowly, something deeper developed.
One evening, Daniel took Emma back to the garage.
The building had been renovated.
But he had kept the original sign.
MARTIN’S AUTO REPAIR
Emma smiled.
“You renovated it.”
“My uncle wanted to retire.”
“So you bought it?”
“Yes.”
“Why?”
Daniel handed her a key.
“It’s yours.”
She stared.
“What?”
“I want you to have a place where nobody cares how much money you have.”
Emma looked at the garage.
“You’re giving me a repair shop?”
“Not exactly.”
“What then?”
“A place where we can disappear sometimes.”
She smiled.
“I like that.”
They stood beneath the old sign.
Emma leaned against him.
“Do you regret pretending to be poor?”
Daniel shook his head.
“Not for a second.”
“Even after everything?”
“Especially after everything.”
She looked at him.
“Why?”
“Because if I’d shown up in a $300,000 car, wearing a suit, you would’ve treated me differently.”
“Maybe.”
“You would’ve.”
She laughed.
“Probably.”
Daniel smiled.
“That’s why I needed the garage.”
Emma kissed him.
For the first time, there was no secret.
No investigation.
No fear.
Just two people who had found each other in the most unlikely place.
