Her Husband Left Her to Die—Then the Mafia Boss Made Her His Untouchable Queen
Chapter 10
Victor kidnapped Elena two days later.
It happened during daylight.
A van stopped beside the foundation.
Three men.
Thirty seconds.
Then she was gone.
Luca received the message while he was in a meeting.
You failed.
He stood so quickly that the chair fell backward.
“Find her.”
Every available man moved.
Phones rang.
Cars left.
The city became a hunting ground.
But Luca knew Victor.
He wanted revenge.
Not money.
Not territory.
Revenge.
Elena woke in an abandoned factory.
Her hands were tied.
Victor sat across from her.
“You look like your mother.”
Elena frowned.
“My mother?”
“Yes.”
“What do you know about her?”
“More than you think.”
Victor told her the truth.
Her mother had once worked for his organization.
She had discovered financial crimes.
She had tried to expose him.
Victor had arranged her death.
Elena’s face went pale.
“You killed her.”
“Yes.”
“Why tell me?”
“Because I want you to understand something.”
He leaned closer.
“Luca will eventually become what I am.”
“No.”
“He already has.”
Elena shook her head.
“You don’t know him.”
“I know men like him.”
Victor smiled.
“They always choose power.”
Elena looked directly at him.
“Then you don’t know Luca.”
Victor laughed.
“You think love changes men?”
“No.”
She paused.
“Choice does.”
Victor’s smile disappeared.
Outside, engines approached.
Luca.
Victor grabbed Elena and pulled a gun.
“Tell him to stop.”
Elena stared at him.
“Luca!”
The shooting stopped.
Victor smiled.
“Good.”
But Elena had already noticed something.
The factory’s emergency lights.
The side exit.
The loose chain around her chair.
She had learned from Luca.
Watch people.
Watch space.
Wait.
When Victor looked toward the entrance, Elena pulled the chain free and struck his wrist.
The gun fell.
She ran.
Luca entered.
He saw her.
For one second, everything stopped.
Then he crossed the room.
He pulled her into his arms.
“I thought I lost you.”
“You didn’t.”
Victor tried to escape.
Luca turned.
But Elena grabbed his hand.
“Don’t.”
Luca looked at her.
“He killed your mother.”
“I know.”
“Why stop me?”
“Because I don’t want his blood to become part of our story.”
Luca stared at her.
Then lowered his weapon.
Victor was arrested.
And for the first time in his life, Luca chose justice over revenge.
