“A Don Doesn’t Date Fat Girls,” She Spat. He Locked The Door “Watch Me Make You My Wife”

Chapter 6

The next morning, rumors exploded across the city.

Photos of Bianca leaving Matteo’s residence had appeared online.

Headlines called her the Don’s secret woman.

Some called her a gold digger.

Others criticized her appearance.

Bianca shut her laptop.

She had expected cruelty.

She hadn’t expected thousands of strangers to participate.

Matteo found her sitting on the living room floor.

“I’m leaving.”

He stopped.

“No.”

She looked up.

“You don’t get to tell me no.”

“You don’t have to stay here for me.”

“Then why?”

“Because running away won’t stop them.”

“I can’t live like this.”

“You don’t have to.”

She stared.

“What do you mean?”

Matteo sat across from her.

“I have a solution.”

Bianca immediately became suspicious.

“I don’t like that sentence.”

“Neither do I.”

He handed her a document.

She read it.

Then looked up.

“A marriage contract?”

“Yes.”

She laughed.

“You’re serious?”

“Yes.”

“You’re insane.”

“Possibly.”

She looked at the pages again.

“This is business.”

“The legal parts are.”

“And the rest?”

Matteo’s expression softened.

“The rest is up to you.”

She studied the contract.

Financial independence.

Separate accounts.

No obligation to surrender her career.

No physical or emotional expectations.

A clause allowing immediate divorce.

And one line in bold:

Bianca Moretti retains full personal autonomy at all times.

She looked at him.

“You wrote this?”

“Yes.”

“Why?”

“Because I won’t ask you to marry me by taking something away from you.”

She felt unexpectedly emotional.

“Then why marry me?”

Matteo was quiet.

“Because I already know what it feels like to lose someone who mattered.”

He looked down.

“And I don’t want to spend another six years pretending I don’t care.”

Bianca’s breath caught.

“You care about me?”

“Yes.”

“How much?”

“Enough to put my name beside yours publicly.”

She looked at the contract.

“What happens if I say no?”

“We keep searching for the people behind the threat.”

“And if I say yes?”

“I protect you.”

“Only that?”

Matteo gave the smallest smile.

“No.”

“What else?”

“I take you to every room where people once whispered that you didn’t belong.”

She almost smiled.

“That sounds dramatic.”

“I am dramatic.”

She laughed.

Then she became serious again.

“I need time.”

“You have it.”

“Even though your family hates this?”

“They don’t decide for me.”

She folded the contract.

“Fine.”

His eyes lifted.

“Fine?”

“I’m not saying yes.”

“I know.”

“But I’m not saying no.”

“That,” Matteo said softly, “is enough.”

That afternoon, Bianca received another message.

Unknown number.

Only four words.

Your father hid it.

She showed Matteo.

His expression darkened.

Then another message arrived.

Ask him about the red key.

Bianca stared.

“What red key?”

Matteo looked at her.

“I don’t know.”

“Then we have another mystery.”

He nodded.

And for the first time, Bianca realized something.

Her father’s secret hadn’t died with him.

It had been waiting for her.
