She smiled.
“Your acquisition team made an accounting mistake.”
Adrian sighed.
“Of course.”
“Fix it.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
She laughed.

“You’re the terrifying one now.”
“Finally.”

“Yes.”

She smiled.
“And now?”

“Too late.”

Then Sophie called.
“Mom! Uncle Adrian!”
Emma laughed.
“We have to go.”
Adrian smiled.
“I like hearing that.”
They walked inside.
