Clara escaped through the front door.

“He went back inside!” Marcus shouted.

They ran toward the workshop.

Flames consumed the roof.

Clara screamed Julian’s name.

Then a window shattered.

Julian appeared.

Marcus helped him out.

Inside the box was the original ledger.

The one Grant thought he had destroyed.

Julian handed it to Clara.

“Your mother was right.”

“About what?”

Sirens approached.
