The Bellmont Theater was glowing beneath the Los Angeles night sky.

Clara stood backstage after the final event.

Julian waited outside.

“You coming?”

She smiled.

“Give me a second.”

He leaned against the doorway.

“Still organizing everyone’s life?”

“Not anymore.”

He laughed.

They walked outside together.

Marcus stood across the street with his camera.

“Don’t worry,” he called. “I’m not filming this part.”

Clara laughed.

Julian took her hand.

For years, their story had been buried beneath secrets, promises, fear and old photographs.

Clara looked at the city lights.

“Do you ever wonder what would have happened if we’d told the truth sooner?”

Julian thought about it.

She smiled.

“Definitely.”

He squeezed her hand.

Clara looked at him.

That was enough.
