She Hired a Cold Bodyguard to Protect Her From the World — Then He Became the Only Place She Felt Safe
Chapter 13
The ceremony was small.
But it felt enormous.
Daniel held Ava’s hands.
“When I met you, I thought my job was to protect you from the world.”
She smiled through tears.
“Then what happened?”
“I realized you were stronger than anyone knew.”
Ava laughed softly.
“And you?”
“I realized I had spent most of my life protecting myself.”
His voice shook.
“Until you.”
Ava looked into his eyes.
“I used to think being loved meant being admired.”
She squeezed his hands.
“You taught me that being loved means being known.”
Daniel smiled.
“And I know you.”
The vows ended.
They kissed.
Their families applauded.
Daniel’s mother cried openly.
Richard Sinclair stood with tears in his eyes.
Victoria hugged Ava afterward.
Friends gathered around them.
For once, Ava wasn’t performing.
She wasn’t acting.
She wasn’t smiling because someone told her to.
She was simply happy.
