No One Could Serve the Foreign Tycoon — Until the Waitress Switched Languages!

Chapter 14

One year later, the Grand Meridian Hotel reopened its private dining room.

Alexander returned.

Emma was there.

But she wasn’t carrying plates anymore.

She had become an interpreter and later joined a foundation created from the assets recovered from Black Orchid’s victims.

The foundation helped families who had lost businesses because of financial crimes.

Daniel worked quietly as an adviser.

Margaret volunteered there three days a week.

Victor testified and received a reduced sentence after cooperating with investigators.

Richard Hale was convicted.

The network he had built collapsed.

One evening, Alexander sat at the same table where everything had begun.

Emma approached.

“Good evening.”

He smiled.

“Russian?”

She shook her head.

“English tonight.”

“I preferred Russian.”

“You understood me perfectly.”

“True.”

She placed a cup of coffee in front of him.

Alexander looked at it.

“No menu?”

“You’ve been coming here for a year.”

“So?”

“You always order the same thing.”

He smiled.

“You remember.”

“I remember everything about that night.”

“So do I.”

Emma sat across from him.

For a moment, neither spoke.

Then Alexander reached into his pocket.

He placed the old brass key on the table.

Emma stared.

“I thought you lost that.”

“I kept it.”

“Why?”

“Because it was the key that led me to you.”

Emma smiled.

“That sounds dramatic.”

“It is.”

She touched the key.

“Do you know what my father said about you?”

“No.”

“He said you were the one person he trusted to understand what he couldn’t say.”

Alexander looked away.

“He was a good man.”

“He was.”

Emma took a breath.

“I’m glad you found me.”

Alexander looked back.

“So am I.”

Outside, the city lights reflected against the glass.

For years, Emma had believed her father’s death was the end of his story.

Instead, it had been the beginning of a truth that crossed borders, languages, money, and fear.

And it all began because a foreign tycoon couldn’t order dinner.
