Adrian ordered Marcus to review security footage.
Mia reviewed every medication Adrian had received during the previous month.

Then she noticed a discrepancy.
One medication had been administered three times.
But the medical chart showed only twice.
She called the mansion’s physician.
“Dr. Lewis?”
“Yes?”
“Why does the medication log say three doses?”
“It doesn’t.”
“It does.”
He looked at the chart.
His expression changed.
“I’ll check.”
“No.”
Mia stopped him.
“Check the original records.”
He stared at her.
“Why?”
“Because someone altered the digital file.”
Adrian walked into the room.
“What did you find?”
Mia explained.
Dr. Lewis became defensive.

Mia recognized it.
“Sarah.”
Adrian frowned.
“Sarah was fired last week.”
“Why?”
“She stole medication.”

“Maybe she didn’t.”
Adrian’s eyes hardened.
“Explain.”
“She might have been framed.”
They searched Sarah’s records.

Her employee badge had been used after her termination.

Someone had been entering the medical wing using her identity.
Adrian ordered the security system opened.
The footage showed a man in a medical uniform entering at 2:03 a.m.
His face was covered.
But Mia noticed his shoes.
Black leather.
Small silver buckle.
She had seen them before.
On one of the senior household managers.
Victor Hale.
Victor had worked for Adrian’s father.
He had been with the family for more than twenty years.
Adrian confronted him that evening.
Victor denied everything.
“You have no proof.”
Adrian placed the security image on the table.
“You entered my medical wing.”
Victor looked at it.
“That isn’t me.”
Mia stepped forward.
“The shoes are.”
