My Ex-Wife Invited Me to Dinner to Humiliate Me — She Had No Idea I Owned Her Lover’s Company

“You’ve been strangely confident tonight.”
“I feel fine.”
“You aren’t jealous.”
“No.”
She frowned.
“Not even a little?”
“Should I be?”
She laughed.
“You used to be.”
“People change.”
She studied me.
“Are you seeing someone?”

She had no answer.

“How much money do you really make?”
I almost laughed.

“Maybe because it’s enough.”
She shook her head.
“You never had ambition.”
I looked at her.
“You never understood my ambition.”
“Which was?”
“To build something that would belong to me.”
She smiled.
“And did you?”
“Yes.”
She laughed.
“That’s adorable.”
I didn’t correct her.
Because on Monday morning, she would find out exactly what I’d built.
