Millionaire’s Wife Humiliated the Waitress — Her Response Left the Entire Room Speechless!

Chapter 10

Harris slowly raised his hands.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Elena didn’t blink.

“My daughter is somewhere in this building.”

“You’re crazy.”

Daniel moved toward the basement door.

Harris stepped in front of him.

“Private area.”

Daniel stared.

“Move.”

“No.”

Police sirens sounded outside.

Harris’s face changed.

He reached for the door.

Two officers entered.

“Hands where we can see them!”

Harris stopped.

Within minutes, the basement was secured.

They found Lily in a locked storage room.

She was frightened, but physically unharmed.

Elena dropped to her knees and pulled her daughter into her arms.

“I’m here.”

Lily cried against her.

“I knew you’d come.”

Elena closed her eyes.

“I always will.”

Daniel stood several feet away.

For a moment, he looked relieved.

Then his phone rang.

Victoria.

He answered.

“You’re under arrest,” he said.

Victoria laughed.

“No, Daniel.”

“What?”

“You found the child.”

Daniel froze.

“And now you think you’ve won.”

“Where are you?”

“Somewhere you can’t reach.”

The call ended.

Police arrested Harris.

But the larger conspiracy remained.

The flash drive contained enough evidence to expose the financial scheme.

Yet Victoria had disappeared.

Richard told investigators everything he knew.

Martin Vale came forward.

The story became national news within forty-eight hours.

BILLIONAIRE FAMILY ACCUSED OF $200 MILLION FINANCIAL FRAUD

Daniel’s father resigned.

Sterling Capital’s board suspended several executives.

Victoria’s family trust was frozen.

But Elena’s name appeared in every article.

The waitress.

The single mother.

The woman whose business proposal accidentally uncovered a financial empire’s hidden structure.

One reporter asked her:

“Did you ever imagine you’d bring down one of Chicago’s wealthiest families?”

Elena shook her head.

“I didn’t bring anyone down.”

“What did you do?”

“I refused to pretend I was less intelligent than I am.”

The statement went viral.

But Elena didn’t care about fame.

She cared about Lily.

She cared about finishing her master’s degree.

And she cared about the company she had dreamed of building.

Three weeks later, Daniel called her.

“The board approved the investment.”

Elena looked up.

“What investment?”

“Your platform.”

She smiled.

“All of it?”

“Twenty million.”

She nearly dropped the phone.

“Twenty million?”

“With independent governance.”

Elena was silent.

Then:

“I can’t accept that.”

Daniel laughed.

“You just argued with a billionaire.”

“I’m serious.”

“So am I.”

Elena looked at the proposal on her desk.

“What do you want in return?”

“Nothing.”

“Nothing?”

“I want the company to succeed.”

She paused.

“Why?”

Daniel’s voice softened.

“Because you were right.”

“About what?”

“People don’t need wealthy people to save them.”

Elena smiled.

“They need opportunities.”

“Exactly.”

But there was one more thing.

Daniel asked:

“Would you consider becoming CEO?”

Elena laughed.

“Of my own company?”

“Yes.”

“You’re offering me control?”

“I’m offering you the chance to build what you already proved you could build.”

Elena looked toward Lily.

Her daughter was doing homework at the kitchen table.

Elena smiled.

“I’ll think about it.”

Daniel laughed.

“Fair.”

The call ended.

Elena placed the phone down.

She thought the story was over.

It wasn’t.

That night, she received one final message.

No number.

No name.

Only four words:

Victoria is still free.

Elena stared at the screen.

Then another message appeared.

And she knows where you live.
