Everyone Ignored Her… Until The Dean Read Her Final Letter
Chapter 5
The next morning, Emily’s student account was frozen.
Then her scholarship disappeared.
Then her dorm access stopped working.
By noon, she had received a disciplinary notice.
The university accused her of unauthorized access to financial systems.
Emily sat outside the administration building with everything she owned inside two bags.
Sarah sat beside her.
“This is insane.”
Emily stared ahead.
“They want me gone.”
“What are you going to do?”
Emily looked at the blue notebook.
“I’m going to the dean.”
Sarah stared at her.
“Are you serious?”
“Yes.”
Emily entered the administration building.
She was escorted to the dean’s office.
Dr. Whitmore sat behind his desk.
“You’ve caused considerable damage.”
Emily placed her notebook on the desk.
“Then answer my questions.”
He smiled.
“You think you’re going to threaten me?”
“No.”
She opened the notebook.
“I’m giving you one chance.”
“To do what?”
“Tell the truth.”
The dean laughed.
“You have no idea how this world works.”
Emily looked directly at him.
“I know numbers.”
“Numbers?”
“Numbers don’t care about titles.”
His smile disappeared.
Emily placed a document in front of him.
“This transfer was authorized from your private account.”
The dean looked at it.
For the first time, he looked afraid.
Emily continued.
“You transferred $680,000 to a company registered under your brother’s name.”
“You don’t understand.”
“Then explain it.”
He stood.
“You should leave.”
“Why?”
“Because you’re making a mistake.”
Emily shook her head.
“No.”
She picked up the notebook.
“My mistake was believing people when they said they couldn’t help me.”
The dean stared at her.
“You think anyone will believe you?”
Emily paused at the door.
“Not yet.”
Then she turned.
“But they will.”
Outside the building, reporters waited.
Someone had leaked the story.
The student newspaper had published Maya’s article.
Professor Harris had provided evidence.
And students had begun sharing Emily’s documents online.
Within hours, the university board announced an independent investigation.
For the first time, Dean Whitmore couldn’t control the narrative.
But Emily still wasn’t safe.
That evening, she received an anonymous message.
Stop digging.
Then another.
You don’t know who you’re fighting.
Emily stared at the screen.
Sarah asked:
“Are you scared?”
Emily nodded.
“Yes.”
“Then stop.”
Emily shook her head.
“I can’t.”
She opened her notebook.
There was one final page.
A list of names.
The dean wasn’t at the top.
He was near the bottom.
Emily had spent months following the money.
And the money led far beyond Westbridge University.
Someone much more powerful was involved.
