Everyone Ignored Her… Until The Dean Read Her Final Letter
Chapter 4
The university announced an emergency student assembly.
The official reason was budget restructuring.
Emily knew better.
Someone had discovered the investigation.
The auditorium was packed.
Students filled every seat.
Faculty members stood along the walls.
Dean Whitmore walked onto the stage.
He smiled calmly.
“Westbridge University has always valued transparency.”
Emily almost laughed.
The dean announced that several financial programs would be temporarily suspended.
Then he mentioned academic misconduct.
“There are individuals,” he said, “who have circulated false allegations designed to damage this institution.”
Emily’s stomach tightened.
He knew.
The dean continued.
“These accusations are not only irresponsible. They may violate university policy.”
Students whispered.
Emily looked at Sarah.
“They’re coming after me.”
Sarah squeezed her hand.
Then Dean Whitmore said her name.
“Ms. Emily Carter.”
The auditorium became silent.
Emily stood.
The dean smiled.
“We understand you have raised concerns regarding university finances.”
Emily walked toward the microphone.
“Yes.”
“You’ve made several allegations.”
“I presented evidence.”
“Evidence you obtained without authorization.”
Emily stared at him.
“I found it through publicly accessible financial records.”
The dean’s smile disappeared.
“You are a student.”
“And you’re the dean.”
A few students laughed nervously.
The dean’s face hardened.
“You should be careful.”
Emily’s voice remained calm.
“I am.”
She pulled out her notebook.
“I have documented 37 questionable transactions.”
Murmurs spread through the auditorium.
The dean interrupted.
“These are unverified.”
“Then verify them.”
Silence.
Emily continued.
“I also have evidence that scholarship funds were transferred to companies connected to members of the administration.”
The auditorium erupted.
Dean Whitmore raised his hand.
“Enough.”
But Emily didn’t stop.
“I tried reporting this.”
She looked at the faculty.
“No one listened.”
She looked at the students.
“Some of you knew.”
She looked back at the dean.
“And some of you benefited.”
Ethan stood.
“She’s lying.”
Emily looked at him.
“Then explain why your father’s company received $2.4 million in consulting fees.”
Ethan froze.
The room exploded with whispers.
His face turned pale.
The dean demanded security remove her.
Two officers approached.
Sarah stood.
“Don’t touch her!”
Other students stood too.
Then something unexpected happened.
Professor Harris walked onto the stage.
“Let her finish.”
The dean stared at him.
“Daniel.”
“I’ve seen the evidence.”
The room went silent again.
Professor Harris placed a folder on the podium.
“And I can verify some of it.”
The dean’s expression changed.
Suddenly, the administration’s carefully controlled meeting was collapsing.
But Emily knew this wasn’t the end.
It was only the beginning.
Because there was one document she had not revealed.
The final transfer.
The one connecting the dean directly to the missing money.
She kept it hidden.
For now.
