“You stayed.”

He smiled.
“My son tells me you’re good.”
Megan laughed.
“He exaggerates.”
Richard looked at Ethan.
“He doesn’t.”
The lunch lasted an hour.
Richard asked about her life.
Her daughter.

Megan told him about wanting to finish a business degree someday.
Richard encouraged her.
“You should.”
“I don’t have the time.”
“Make it.”
She smiled.

Richard trusted him.

“Why?”
