The Mafia Boss Was Ready to Marry Another — Until His Maid Revealed the Secret She’d Hidden
Chapter 13
Ten years after the canceled wedding, Elena returned to the ballroom.
The room had been transformed.
No guns.
No guards.
No family meetings.
Instead, it was filled with children from the foundation.
Music played.
Tables were covered with food.
Rose was now seventeen.
She stood beside her mother.
“Do you remember this place?”
Elena smiled.
“How could I forget?”
“You almost became a princess.”
Elena laughed.
“Something like that.”
Luca walked toward them.
He looked older.
Happier.
He had silver beginning at his temples.
Rose hugged him.
“You’re late.”
“I was working.”
“Again?”
“Yes.”
Elena smiled.
“Some things never change.”
Luca took her hand.
“This place changed.”
“How?”
“You.”
She looked around.
“Maybe.”
He kissed her.
Then Rose interrupted.
“Mom.”
“What?”
“I have something.”
She handed Elena a photograph.
It showed Elena’s mother.
Alexander Vale.
And a baby.
Rose frowned.
“Who’s the baby?”
Elena stared.
She recognized herself.
But there was something written on the back.
She wasn’t my only child.
Elena’s heart stopped.
“Mom?”
Luca took the photograph.
He read the next line.
There was another daughter.
Silence.
Rose looked at them.
“You have a sister?”
Elena shook her head.
“I didn’t know.”
Then the ballroom doors opened.
A young woman stood there.
She looked almost exactly like Elena.
Same eyes.
Same smile.
She said:
“Are you Elena Delacroix?”
Elena couldn’t speak.
The woman smiled.
“I’m your sister.”
