Victor sat behind his desk.
“You seem unhappy.”
“I want the truth.”
“About?”
“Adrian.”
Victor smiled.
“He’s your husband.”
“You planned this before the painting was damaged.”
Victor said nothing.
“That means the debt was an excuse.”
“Everything has a price.”
Elena’s hands tightened.
“What do you want from him?”
Victor looked out the window.
“His hotel.”
She froze.
“Why?”
“Because his father promised it to me.”
Elena’s expression hardened.
“My father would never do that.”
“He did.”
“Then show me.”
Victor smiled.
“You’re becoming difficult.”
“I learned from you.”
Victor’s expression darkened.
“You should be careful.”
Elena walked away.
That evening, she found Adrian alone.
“You need to leave the marriage.”
He looked at her.

“My father wants your company.”
Adrian laughed.

She sat beside him.
