The Billionaire Hotel Owner Was Forced to Marry a Crime Boss’s Daughter — Then His Ex Came Back,….
Chapter 13
Maya prepared to leave the city.
Her next destination was Iceland.
Then Nepal.
Then wherever the road took her.
Adrian found her at the airport.
“You’re leaving.”
“Yes.”
“Are you angry?”
Maya smiled.
“No.”
He sat beside her.
“I’ll always care about you.”
“I know.”
“You were my first real love.”
“And Elena?”
Adrian looked at her.
“She is the person I want to come home to.”
Maya smiled.
“That answer would have broken my heart a year ago.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be.”
She stood.
“You finally learned something.”
“What?”
“Love isn’t supposed to be about who makes your heart beat fastest.”
Adrian smiled.
“Then what is it?”
“Who makes you want to become better.”
She hugged him.
Then she walked toward the gate.
Adrian watched her disappear.
There was sadness.
But there was no regret.
He had finally learned that letting someone go didn’t mean losing them.
Sometimes it meant honoring what they had been to you.
When he returned to the hotel, Elena was waiting.
“Where were you?”
“Seeing someone from my past.”
She smiled.
“Did you say goodbye?”
“Yes.”
“And?”
Adrian took her hand.
“I came home.”
