The Billionaire Hotel Owner Was Forced to Marry a Crime Boss’s Daughter — Then His Ex Came Back,….

Chapter 2

The next morning, Adrian sat across from Elena in his private office.

She looked completely calm.

He wasn’t.

“This is insane.”

“I agree.”

“You don’t want to marry me.”

“No.”

“Good.”

“Very good.”

Adrian leaned back.

“Then we have an understanding.”

Elena nodded.

“Exactly.”

He smiled.

“This might be easier than I expected.”

She raised an eyebrow.

“Don’t get excited.”

“Why?”

“Because my father isn’t asking.”

Adrian’s smile disappeared.

“What do you mean?”

“He has already decided.”

She placed a folder on his desk.

Adrian opened it.

The marriage agreement was already prepared.

The hotel.

The debt.

The conditions.

Everything.

“How long has this been planned?”

Elena looked away.

“I don’t know.”

Adrian studied her.

“You knew about the painting?”

“No.”

“You knew my father wanted me to marry you?”

“Yes.”

“Before last night?”

“Yes.”

He stood.

“So the painting wasn’t the reason.”

Elena didn’t answer.

Adrian felt a chill.

“What is your father really doing?”

She looked directly at him.

“I don’t know.”

It was the first time he saw fear in her eyes.

Real fear.

Not the kind people pretended to feel when they wanted something.

The kind that came from knowing someone powerful enough to ruin your life.

“I’ll marry you,” Adrian said.

Elena blinked.

“You will?”

“I have no choice.”

She shook her head.

“You always have a choice.”

Adrian smiled bitterly.

“Not this time.”

Neither of them knew it yet.

But the marriage Victor had forced upon them would soon become the one thing he couldn’t control.
