Five years after Nathan revealed his wealth, Emma received an unexpected letter.
It was from Michael.
Her ex-husband.
He wanted to apologize.
Emma met him once.

He admitted that he had left because he panicked when their business failed.

He looked surprised.
“Why?”

Michael nodded.
“Are you happy?”
Emma smiled.
“Very.”
“With him?”
“Yes.”
Michael laughed.
“He’s apparently quite rich.”
Emma smiled.
“He was rich when I met him.”
“You didn’t know?”
“No.”
He shook his head.
“Then you really won.”
Emma laughed.
“I didn’t win anything.”
She stood.
“I found the right person.”
That was the difference.
She hadn’t married wealth.
She had married love.
And the wealth simply happened to be part of the man she loved.
