Paralyzed Millionaire Was Abandoned at the Altar — Then He Looked at the Maid and Said…
Chapter 13
Five years passed.
Ethan and Grace had two children.
A daughter named Lily and a son named Daniel.
They grew up surrounded by books, horses, and too many family dinners.
Grace’s foundation expanded nationwide.
Ethan became known for disability-access initiatives in his companies.
He redesigned office buildings.
Changed hiring policies.
Created scholarships.
But his favorite title was still Dad.
One evening, Lily asked:
“Daddy, how did you meet Mommy?”
Ethan looked at Grace.
She smiled.
“Tell her.”
Ethan laughed.
“She was a maid.”
Lily’s eyes widened.
“You hired Mommy?”
“No.”
“She worked in my house.”
“Then how did you marry her?”
“That part is complicated.”
Grace laughed.
Lily frowned.
“Why?”
Ethan looked at his daughter.
“Because sometimes people don’t see what is right in front of them.”
Lily thought about that.
“Like you?”
“Exactly.”
Grace sat beside them.
“Your dad learned to pay attention.”
Lily smiled.
“Good.”
Then she asked:
“Was Mommy scared?”
Grace nodded.
“Very.”
“Why?”
“Because people said we couldn’t belong together.”
Lily looked confused.
“Why?”
Grace smiled.
“Because they thought money decided who people should love.”
Lily frowned.
“That’s silly.”
Ethan laughed.
“It is.”
The family continued eating.
Later, Grace and Ethan stood on the balcony.
“Can you believe this?”
“No.”
“I used to clean this house.”
“You still do.”
She stared.
He laughed.
“I’m joking.”
“You’re lucky you’re cute.”
He smiled.
She kissed him.
Life had not become perfect.
But it had become theirs.
