Mafia Boss Discovers His Bride Is a Virgin… He Thought His Innocent Bride Was…
Chapter 14
On their tenth wedding anniversary, Matteo surprised Isabella.
He took her back to the house where they had spent their first night as husband and wife.
It had been renovated.
The bedroom was different.
The library was larger.
The gardens were filled with flowers.
But one thing remained.
The old window where Isabella had stood, trembling, on their wedding night.
She touched the frame.
“I remember this.”
“So do I.”
“I was scared.”
“I know.”
“I thought you would expect me to become someone else.”
“I never did.”
She looked at him.
“Do you know what I remember?”
“What?”
“You told me I didn’t owe you anything.”
He smiled.
“I meant it.”
She stepped closer.
“That was the moment I started trusting you.”
“And tonight?”
She smiled.
“Tonight I love you.”
He kissed her.
No audience.
No politics.
No families.
Just them.
Later, they sat outside.
Isabella asked:
“Would you have married me if you’d known the truth from the beginning?”
Matteo looked at her.
“Yes.”
“Even knowing I had no experience with men?”
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“Because that had nothing to do with your value.”
She smiled.
“You really believe that?”
“I do.”
He touched her hand.
“You weren’t valuable because you were innocent.”
“You were valuable because you were you.”
Tears appeared in her eyes.
She leaned against him.
“Good answer.”
He laughed.
“I’ve had ten years to practice.”
