I Was the Only Employee Sitting Alone at My Boss’s Wedding — Then Her Younger Sister Whispered a Secret That Changed Everything
Chapter 4
We returned to the main house through a service entrance.
The reception was louder now.
Music.
Drinks.
Dancing.
People celebrating.
Nobody noticed us.
Olivia stood near the fireplace.
Ethan was beside her.
He looked happy.
Too happy.
I walked toward her.
“Ethan.”
He turned.
“Daniel.”
His smile vanished for half a second.
Then returned.
“Enjoying the evening?”
“Can I speak with Olivia?”
“Of course.”
He stepped away.
Olivia looked at me.
“Is everything okay?”
“No.”
She frowned.
“What happened?”
Natalie stepped beside me.
“We need you to leave.”
Olivia looked confused.
“Leave my wedding?”
“Yes.”
She stared at her sister.
“What is this?”
I took out my phone.
“I have evidence.”
“Ethan?”
I showed her the video.
Her expression changed.
She watched.
Then another.
Then the email.
Her hands began shaking.
“This isn’t possible.”
Natalie whispered:
“Dad knew.”
Olivia shook her head.
“My father trusted Ethan.”
“That’s what he wanted him to believe.”
Olivia looked toward Ethan.
He was watching us.
His expression had changed.
He knew.
He knew we had discovered something.
He started walking toward us.
“Olivia.”
She turned.
“What is going on?”
He looked at me.
“Daniel, leave.”
I didn’t move.
Olivia stepped between us.
“Why does he have these files?”
Ethan’s face hardened.
“Because someone is manipulating you.”
Natalie laughed bitterly.
“No.”
She held up the old recording.
“Because Dad tried to warn us.”
Ethan’s expression changed.
He hadn’t known we had it.
That was enough.
Olivia saw it.
For the first time, doubt appeared in her eyes.
“Ethan?”
He reached for her hand.
“Listen to me.”
She stepped back.
“Did you plan this?”
“No.”
“Do you own the offshore company?”
Silence.
“Ethan.”
He finally said:
“I can explain.”
Olivia’s face went pale.
That was an admission.
She turned to me.
“What happens at midnight?”
I answered:
“According to the contract, your marital transfer becomes active once the ceremony documents are filed.”
She looked at the clock.
11:58.
Ethan stepped forward.
“You’re misunderstanding.”
“No.”
Olivia shook her head.
“I don’t.”
Then the room became silent.
Everyone had noticed the confrontation.
Ethan’s smile disappeared completely.
He whispered:
“You’re making a mistake.”
Olivia looked at him.
“Maybe.”
She removed her wedding ring.
The guests gasped.
She placed it in his hand.
“I’m not going to the island.”
Ethan’s jaw tightened.
“You don’t know what you’re doing.”
Olivia looked at me.
Then at Natalie.
She whispered:
“I think I finally do.”
Outside, car engines started.
Ethan’s security team was moving.
And I realized something.
He wasn’t going to let us simply walk away.
