I Was the Only Employee Sitting Alone at My Boss’s Wedding — Then Her Younger Sister Whispered a Secret That Changed Everything
Chapter 12
Our wedding took place at the same lake house.
The property had become a place of complicated memories.
Now we would create a better one.
Natalie stood beside Olivia.
She had been the one who saved her sister.
She had also become one of my closest friends.
Before the ceremony, she pulled me aside.
“You know what I whispered that night?”
I laughed.
“How could I forget?”
She smiled.
“You looked terrified.”
“I was.”
“Good.”
She hugged me.
“She loves you.”
“I know.”
“Don’t hurt her.”
“I won’t.”
Then she smiled.
“And if you do, I’ll remind you that I know where everything is buried.”
I laughed.
“That’s terrifying.”
“Family tradition.”
The ceremony was simple.
Olivia walked toward me.
She looked calm.
Happy.
Free.
When she reached me, she whispered:
“I can’t believe I almost missed this.”
I smiled.
“Neither can I.”
During our vows, she said:
“I spent years thinking control was the same as safety.”
She took my hands.
“Then I learned that the safest place isn’t behind walls.”
She smiled.
“It’s beside someone who tells you the truth.”
I looked at her.
“I came to your wedding as an employee.”
She laughed through her tears.
“And left it as your husband.”
Everyone laughed.
Natalie cried.
For once, nothing about the wedding was hidden.
No secret contracts.
No traps.
No manipulation.
Just love.
