Daniel listened.

Daniel stopped breathing.

“You?”

Daniel stared.

She explained.

“What account?”

He stared.
“Why give it to me?”
Evelyn smiled sadly.

“What?”
“For you to choose what kind of man you wanted to be.”
Then she turned herself in.
Daniel watched as his mother walked away in handcuffs.
