The Billionaire Left the Same $10 Tip Every Morning… Until She Finally Asked Why
Chapter 11
Months passed.
The café became busier.
Daniel still came almost every morning.
Sometimes Clara joined him.
Sometimes they sat silently.
The ten-dollar ritual had ended.
But one morning, Daniel placed something beside Clara’s coffee.
An old photograph.
It showed his father sitting at the same table.
Beside him was seventeen-year-old Daniel.
Clara smiled.
“You kept this?”
“Always.”
“Why show me now?”
Daniel turned the photograph over.
On the back was a handwritten note.
For my son. When you become successful, don’t forget the people who helped you become yourself.
Clara read it.
Her eyes filled.
“He wrote this?”
“Yes.”
“Did you know about it?”
“No.”
Daniel smiled.
“I found it in the ledger box.”
Clara looked at him.
“What will you do with it?”
“Keep it.”
“Why?”
“Because I spent years thinking success meant getting away from where I started.”
He took her hand.
“Now I know it means being able to give something back.”
Clara smiled.
“And what about the café?”
Daniel looked around.
“I’m keeping it.”
“Why?”
“Because my father ate here.”
She smiled.
“And because?”
Daniel looked at her.
“Because I met you here.”
She laughed.
“That’s much more sentimental.”
“I warned you.”
