At the announcement, a reporter asked:
“How did this company survive such a scandal?”
Ethan answered:
“Because people were willing to tell the truth.”
Victoria added:
“And because we finally learned to listen.”
Olivia smiled.
Afterward, the three stood together backstage.
Victoria looked at Olivia.
“I owe you an apology.”
“You already gave one.”
“I know.”
“Then we’re good.”
Victoria smiled.
Then she looked at Ethan.
“And you.”
“What?”
“You should have told me you owned the company.”
He laughed.
“Probably.”
Victoria shook her head.
“You two deserve each other.”
Olivia smiled.
“That’s what I’ve been saying.”
They laughed.
For the first time, there was no awkward history between them.
Just acceptance.
Later that evening, Olivia returned home.
She found Ethan in the kitchen.
He was cooking.
She stared.
“What?”
“You burned it.”
He looked at the pan.
“Damn.”
She laughed.
“You own a billion-dollar company.”
“That doesn’t make me a chef.”
She hugged him.

He kissed her forehead.
“I love you.”
“I know.”
She smiled.
