Samuel shook his head.
“You opened the door.”

She laughed.
They walked upstairs.
The old room was empty now.
Samuel had transformed it into a library.
Hundreds of books filled the shelves.
At the center stood her father’s portrait.
Clara touched the frame.
“He wanted this room to be a place where people could learn.”
Samuel nodded.
“So I made it one.”
Children from the village used the library every week.
Farmers came to read contracts.
