He Offered Him a Marriage Deal… After His Pregnant Daughter Was Abandoned
Chapter 6
The threat came the next morning.
An anonymous message was sent to Alexander.
Give us the shares, or the child becomes the leverage.
Alexander’s face went cold.
Noah read the message.
“Who knows about the baby?”
“Too many people.”
“No.”
Noah shook his head.
“You’re moving them somewhere secure.”
“Yes.”
Emily protested.
“I don’t want to run.”
“You aren’t running.”
Noah looked at her.
“I’m protecting your son.”
Emily nodded.
The baby was moved to a secure residence.
Noah stayed.
Alexander stayed.
The three of them barely slept.
Then Alexander received another message.
A photograph of the hospital.
Taken from across the street.
Someone had been watching them.
Security reviewed cameras.
A black SUV appeared multiple times.
They traced it.
The vehicle was registered to a company connected to Victor.
Alexander’s brother denied everything.
But the evidence pointed toward him.
Noah asked:
“What do we do?”
Alexander answered:
“We expose him.”
“How?”
“We make him believe he’s winning.”
They created a false board conflict.
Alexander publicly announced that he was reconsidering the marriage.
Privately, he moved the voting shares into a protected structure.
The goal was to lure Victor into making a move.
It worked.
Victor contacted several directors.
He offered them money.
He promised leadership positions.
He also leaked documents accusing Noah of marrying Alexander for financial gain.
The media exploded.
Headlines called the marriage fraudulent.
Noah became a target.
Emily was furious.
“You don’t have to stay.”
Noah looked at her.
“Yes, I do.”
“Dad.”
“You and your son are my family.”
Alexander heard that.
He looked away.
Those words hurt.
He had spent years surrounded by people who claimed loyalty because of money.
Noah offered loyalty without asking for anything.
That night, Alexander finally told Noah the truth.
“My doctor gave me one year.”
Noah froze.
“You’re terminally ill?”
“Not necessarily.”
“What does that mean?”
“I have a degenerative heart condition.”
“Treatable?”
“Possibly.”
“Then why didn’t you tell me?”
“Because the people around me would use it.”
Noah stared.
“So this marriage isn’t just about the company.”
“No.”
“It was about making sure someone trustworthy would be there if you died.”
“Yes.”
Noah looked down.
“You should have told me.”
“I know.”
Silence.
Then Noah said:
“Do you love my daughter?”
Alexander shook his head.
“Not like that.”
“Good.”
Noah looked at him.
“Because she’s already been hurt enough.”
Alexander nodded.
“I would never ask her for more.”
The two men sat quietly.
For the first time, they weren’t business partners.
They were fathers.
Two men protecting a child.
Then the secure house alarm went off.
Someone had breached the outer gate.
And the person security saw on the cameras was Ryan.
