“Daniel,” Emma said in the recording.
He stopped breathing.
Victoria quietly stepped back.
Emma continued.
“If you’re watching this, something happened that I was afraid of.”
Daniel reached toward the screen.
“I found evidence of fraud at the company I was consulting for.”
She explained that executives had been moving money through shell corporations.
She had discovered that Blackridge was preparing to acquire parts of the company through manipulated valuations.

“So I kept copies,” she said.

“No.”
