They Bullied The “Poor” Girl… She Was a Billionaire’s Daughter
Chapter 3
Monday morning began normally.
Sophie arrived at school expecting another day of humiliation.
Instead, she noticed something strange.
There were several black SUVs parked near the administration building.
Security guards stood near the entrance.
The headmaster was speaking with someone.
Sophie recognized the man immediately.
Her father’s chief legal advisor.
Her heart sank.
“Dad.”
The man smiled.
“Your father asked me to check on you.”
“I told him not to interfere.”
“He didn’t.”
Sophie frowned.
“Then why are you here?”
“Because the school contacted us.”
“They did?”
“Apparently, someone filed a formal complaint.”
Sophie stared.
“I didn’t.”
“I know.”
She looked toward the building.
“Then who did?”
The man didn’t answer.
Sophie entered the school.
Within minutes, rumors spread.
Something was happening.
Nobody knew what.
Madison heard that an important family was visiting the school.
She assumed it was one of her father’s business associates.
She wasn’t worried.
Until the headmaster entered the cafeteria.
“Students, I need everyone’s attention.”
The room became quiet.
“We are conducting an investigation into repeated incidents of harassment involving one of our students.”
Sophie froze.
Madison looked around.
“Who?”
The headmaster continued.
“Evidence has been collected.”
Sophie’s heart pounded.
“Several students will be interviewed today.”
Madison looked irritated.
Then she noticed Sophie.
Her expression changed.
“You.”
Sophie said nothing.
Madison walked over.
“You reported us?”
“No.”
“Don’t lie.”
“I didn’t.”
“You think you’re clever?”
Sophie stood.
“I said I didn’t.”
Madison grabbed her arm.
Before anything else happened, a security officer stepped forward.
“Let go.”
Madison released her.
“What?”
The officer remained calm.
“You are not permitted to touch her.”
Madison stared.
“Who are you?”
“Security.”
“For her?”
The officer didn’t answer.
Madison looked at Sophie.
“Who are you?”
Sophie didn’t respond.
The investigation continued.
Teachers were interviewed.
Students were questioned.
Security footage was reviewed.
Then the headmaster discovered something that changed everything.
The footage showed Madison’s friends damaging Sophie’s belongings.
There were messages.
Photographs.
Videos.
Everything had been recorded.
Madison’s parents were called.
Her father arrived furious.
“This is absurd.”
The headmaster placed the evidence on the table.
“This is not a misunderstanding.”
Madison’s father looked at his daughter.
“Did you do this?”
Madison started crying.
“It was a joke.”
“A joke?”
He looked at the photographs.
“You humiliated another student.”
“Everyone was doing it.”
The headmaster shook his head.
“Not everyone.”
Then a lawyer entered the room.
He placed a folder on the table.
“I represent the Bennett family.”
Madison’s father looked at him.
“The Bennett family?”
The lawyer nodded.
“Yes.”
Something about the man’s expression made him nervous.
“Which Bennett?”
The lawyer opened the folder.
“Daniel Bennett.”
Madison’s father went pale.
Daniel Bennett.
Everyone in the business world knew that name.
Founder and chairman of Bennett Global.
One of the richest men in America.
Madison stared.
“What?”
Her father looked at her.
“Do you understand what you’ve done?”
Madison shook her head.
“Who is he?”
Her father whispered:
“He’s a billionaire.”
The room became silent.
Madison looked toward Sophie.
The girl she had called poor.
The girl whose backpack she had broken.
The girl she had told didn’t belong.
Sophie stood in the hallway.
She wasn’t smiling.
She wasn’t celebrating.
She simply looked tired.
Madison walked toward her.
“Sophie.”
Sophie stopped.
“I didn’t know.”
Sophie looked at her.
“That’s the point.”
Madison’s eyes filled with tears.
“I would’ve treated you differently.”
Sophie answered quietly:
“Exactly.”
Then she walked away.
