Julian discovered something strange in the property records.
The cliff wasn’t supposed to belong to Westshore Development.
There was an old land transfer agreement.
The property had been designated for community use decades earlier.
The document had been buried in old municipal records.
Someone had illegally altered the title.
Julian brought the evidence to Amelia.
“This changes everything.”
She read the documents.
“My mother knew about this.”
“How do you know?”
“She used to talk about building homes here.”
Julian stared at her.
“Your mother?”
Amelia nodded.
“She wanted to create housing for families who couldn’t afford the coast.”
He looked at her sketches.
Suddenly, everything made sense.
Amelia hadn’t simply built a secret home.
She had unknowingly continued her mother’s dream.
Julian sat beside her.
“Why didn’t you ever leave?”
“Because I finally had somewhere that belonged to me.”
He looked at her.
“Maybe it doesn’t have to belong only to you.”
She frowned.
“What do you mean?”
He pointed toward her plans.
“What if this became what your mother wanted?”
