Homeless at Eighteen, She Built a Secret House Inside the Cliff — Then the Family Who Abandoned Her Came Looking for Her

Chapter 2

The first night inside the cliff was miserable.

Amelia slept on layers of cardboard.

Water dripped from the ceiling.

The wind came through cracks in the rock.

She woke up freezing.

But she stayed.

During the day, she found temporary work cleaning cabins near the coast.

At night, she returned to the cliff.

She began collecting discarded wood.

Old shelves.

Broken furniture.

Scrap metal.

Anything people didn’t want.

Then shelves.

Then a table.

She found an old camping stove.

She repaired a broken lantern.

She even managed to connect a small solar panel someone had thrown away.

The chamber slowly changed.

One rainy evening, Amelia sat beneath a blanket and opened her mother’s photograph.

“I think you’d like it here.”

She smiled sadly.

“Nobody can make me leave.”

What Amelia didn’t know was that someone had begun watching the cliff.

Not because of her.

Because developers had discovered that the land contained one of the most valuable coastal properties in the region.

A company called Westshore Development wanted it.

And their CEO had no idea that a young woman was living inside the rock they planned to destroy.
