Homeless at 18, She Was Left a $12 Storage Unit — The “Junk” Inside Was Worth $4.2 Million
Chapter 10
Eleanor explained everything.
She had discovered that members of her own business circle were stealing from her collection.
When she threatened to expose them, they attempted to make her disappear.
Arthur helped move some of the collection into storage.
The rest was scattered.
She had escaped.
But she never stopped trying to recover what was hers.
“You were supposed to find the collection years ago,” Eleanor said.
“Why didn’t you?”
“I was afraid.”
Charlotte understood.
“You were protecting Arthur too.”
Eleanor nodded.
“Until I learned that fear only gives evil more time.”
She handed Charlotte a document.
It was a legal transfer.
Eleanor wanted to establish a foundation.
The recovered collection would be displayed publicly.
Its profits would fund scholarships for young people who had experienced homelessness.
Charlotte stared at the document.
“You want me to manage it?”
“No.”
Eleanor smiled.
“I want you to build it.”
Charlotte looked at Daniel.
He smiled.
She looked back at Eleanor.
“I’ll do it.”
