Michael proposed to Victoria six months later.
He took her to the exact street corner where they had first met.

“You planned this?”

She shook her head.
“You’re sentimental.”
“Apparently.”
He took out a ring.

She smiled.
“I know.”
“Then I realized something.”
“What?”
“Some choices matter more than opportunities.”
Her eyes filled.
He continued:
“I don’t want to spend the rest of my life wondering whether I chose work over the person I love.”
He knelt.
“Victoria Sterling, will you marry me?”
She said yes.
Lily had been hiding nearby.
She ran out cheering.
“I knew it!”
Victoria laughed.
“You knew?”
“Of course.”
Michael shook his head.
She hugged them both.
The wedding was private.
Family.
Friends.

During the vows, Victoria said:
“I used to think strength meant never needing anyone.”
She looked at Michael.

Michael said:

He looked at Lily.

Victoria moved away from the CEO role temporarily during the honeymoon period.
