She looked at him.

“What was it?”

“Yes.”

She laughed.

“You really didn’t hesitate.”

“No.”

“Why?”

He took her hand.

“Because I had already decided.”

“When?”

“Three years earlier.”

She shook her head.

“You were impossible.”

“So were you.”

“Still am.”

“I know.”

She leaned against him.

“Would you change anything?”

Elias looked toward the sunset.

“No.”

“Not even the way we met?”

“No.”

“Not even Aunt Margaret?”

He smiled.

“Perhaps I would make her arrive five minutes later.”

Clara laughed.

“Why?”
