I Caught My Husband With My Brother’s New Wife — Then I Discovered Their Betrayal Was Never About Love
Chapter 3
I returned to our house before Daniel.
I expected anger.
Instead, I found something worse.
A locked drawer in his study.
Daniel had always been obsessive about privacy.
I’d never questioned it.
Now I needed to know what was inside.
I found the key hidden beneath an old financial report.
Inside were documents.
Bank statements.
Property transfers.
Emails.
And several contracts between Daniel’s company and a company I had never heard of.
The company belonged to Olivia’s father.
I stared at the dates.
The transfers had started five months before the wedding.
Two months before Olivia met Lucas.
I called Lucas.
“Did Olivia ever mention her father’s business?”
“Not much.”
“Did she know Daniel before you?”
A long pause.
“She said they met at a charity event.”
“Did Daniel know her family?”
“Apparently.”
I looked at the documents.
Something wasn’t right.
This wasn’t random cheating.
Money had been moving between the two families.
And then I found a message.
From Olivia to Daniel.
Once Lucas signs the final papers, everything becomes ours.
My hands went cold.
I read it again.
Everything.
What did that mean?
I sent the screenshot to Lucas.
He called immediately.
“Claire.”
“I know.”
“They weren’t just having an affair.”
“No.”
“They were using me.”
I looked at the documents.
“My husband too.”
Lucas was silent.
Then he said something that changed the entire situation.
“My grandfather’s estate.”
I frowned.
“What about it?”
“Grandpa left the family hotel group to me if I married before thirty.”
I stared at the paperwork.
“How much?”
Lucas whispered:
“Almost two hundred million dollars.”
