But this time, the diner looked different.
Lily no longer worked there.

“You two finally official?”
Lily laughed.
“She’s been asking that for a year.”
Maggie pointed at Ethan.
“He looks happier.”

Later, Lily and Ethan sat in their usual booth.
Ethan looked around.
“This place changed my life.”
Lily raised an eyebrow.
“Bad coffee?”
“Terrible coffee.”
“Hey.”
“Sorry.”
She smiled.

“I’ve been thinking.”

He laughed.

“Ethan.”

He opened the box.
Inside was a ring.

He took her hand.
