A Single Dad Used an Old Pilot Call Sign—The CEO Suddenly Realized Who He Really Was
Chapter 7
The voice on the radio belonged to Thomas Harper.
But he wasn’t in Alaska.
He had been using the abandoned airfield as a communication point.
Marcus asked where he was.
Thomas refused to say.
“Why?”
“Because they’re listening.”
Elizabeth leaned toward the microphone.
“Dad?”
Silence.
Then:
“Elizabeth?”
She broke down immediately.
“It’s me.”
Thomas’s voice trembled.
“My little girl.”
Elizabeth covered her mouth.
“You thought I was dead.”
“I know.”
“Why didn’t you come home?”
“I couldn’t.”
“Why?”
Thomas hesitated.
“Because Vale had people watching you.”
Elizabeth looked at Marcus.
Thomas continued.
“Arthur wasn’t working alone.”
Marcus asked:
“Who?”
Thomas said:
“Look inside the company.”
“We are.”
“Not enough.”
“What do you mean?”
“The people who funded the original project are still there.”
Elizabeth asked:
“Who are they?”
Thomas gave them three names.
One was a current board member.
One was an international investor.
The third was someone Marcus didn’t recognize.
Then Thomas said something that changed everything.
“They don’t want the navigation system anymore.”
Marcus frowned.
“What do they want?”
“Your CEO.”
Elizabeth froze.
“Me?”
“They need your authority to access the final system.”
Marcus understood.
The new AeroVantage platform wasn’t just a commercial product.
It contained the technology Thomas had been trying to expose.
If they controlled Elizabeth, they could control the company.
Thomas continued.
“You have forty-eight hours.”
“For what?”
“Before they move.”
The radio went silent.
Elizabeth stared at Marcus.
“What do we do?”
Marcus looked at the equipment.
“We expose them.”
“But how?”
“We need proof.”
“We have the recording.”
“Not enough.”
Marcus thought.
“Your father mentioned the final system.”
Elizabeth nodded.
“The prototype is stored in our secure laboratory.”
“Then that’s where they’ll go.”
They returned to Atlanta.
Marcus secretly contacted federal investigators.
He provided copies of the evidence.
But the investigation needed something undeniable.
They needed the people behind the operation to incriminate themselves.
So Elizabeth created a trap.
She announced that the final navigation system would be demonstrated privately to select board members.
Arthur Vale immediately volunteered to attend.
Marcus knew.
He was coming.
The demonstration room was heavily secured.
Hidden cameras recorded everything.
Arthur entered with two executives.
He smiled at Elizabeth.
“You finally understand your father’s work.”
Elizabeth looked at him.
“I understand more than you think.”
Arthur’s expression changed.
Marcus stood behind the control panel.
Arthur noticed him.
“Ghost Six.”
Marcus said nothing.
Arthur laughed.
“You should have stayed retired.”
Marcus looked directly at him.
“You should have left my family alone.”
Arthur’s smile disappeared.
Then Elizabeth activated the system.
A projection appeared.
Flight paths.
Weather.
Pilot behavior.
Predictive algorithms.
Arthur stared.
“You found it.”
Elizabeth nodded.
“My father was right.”
Arthur turned toward the executives.
“Shut it down.”
The doors opened.
Federal agents entered.
Arthur froze.
Elizabeth stepped forward.
“You’re under arrest.”
Arthur looked at Marcus.
“You think this ends here?”
Marcus answered calmly.
“No.”
He pointed toward the screens.
“It starts here.”
The investigation expanded rapidly.
Evidence from the Alaska facility connected Arthur to the original conspiracy.
Financial records revealed payments.
Flight logs showed deliberate interference.
And Thomas Harper’s testimony provided the final piece.
But there was still one question.
Why had Thomas disappeared for eleven years?
The answer would come from Thomas himself.
