A Single Dad Used an Old Pilot Call Sign—The CEO Suddenly Realized Who He Really Was
Chapter 11
The years that followed were quieter.
Not uneventful.
Just quieter.
Marcus became one of the most respected aviation safety experts in the country.
Elizabeth continued leading AeroVantage.
Thomas worked part-time as an advisor and spent the rest of his time with his family.
And Noah grew up surrounded by stories about airplanes.
But Marcus never pushed his son toward aviation.
He wanted Noah to choose his own path.
One summer morning, Noah came into the kitchen holding a university brochure.
“Dad.”
Marcus looked up.
“What?”
“I got accepted.”
Marcus smiled.
“Congratulations.”
Noah handed him the brochure.
Aerospace engineering.
Marcus stared at it.
“You really want this?”
Noah nodded.
“Yes.”
Marcus hugged him.
“I’ll support you.”
Noah smiled.
“But I have one condition.”
Marcus raised an eyebrow.
“What?”
“You have to teach me to fly.”
Marcus laughed.
“Deal.”
That afternoon, they went to the airport.
Thomas was waiting.
Elizabeth arrived shortly afterward.
Noah climbed into the training aircraft.
Marcus sat beside him.
For a moment, he remembered the first time he had flown with Thomas.
Eleven years of memories returned.
But this time, there was no fear.
No storm.
No missing aircraft.
No secret.
Just a father teaching his son.
Noah placed his hands on the controls.
“Ready?”
Marcus smiled.
“Always.”
The aircraft lifted from the runway.
Thomas watched from below.
Elizabeth stood beside him.
“He’s good.”
Thomas nodded.
“He has his father’s instincts.”
Elizabeth smiled.
“Which father?”
Thomas laughed.
“Both.”
Above them, Marcus watched Noah carefully.
The boy was nervous.
Excited.
Focused.
Marcus remembered something Thomas had once told him.
A pilot doesn’t control the sky.
A pilot learns to respect it.
The lesson had stayed with him.
When they landed, Noah climbed out smiling.
“Again.”
Marcus laughed.
“Tomorrow.”
“No.”
Noah pointed toward the runway.
“Again today.”
Marcus looked at him.
Then smiled.
“Okay.”
Elizabeth watched them.
Thomas stood beside her.
“You found a good man.”
Elizabeth smiled.
“I know.”
Thomas looked at her.
“Does he know?”
Elizabeth laughed.
“I’m not sure.”
“Tell him.”
She looked across the runway.
Marcus was helping Noah with his headset.
She smiled.
“Maybe I will.”
