A Billionaire Heiress Walked Into My Clinic and Gave Me 3 Days to Marry Her… Then I Discovered Why

Chapter 13

Ten years after Charlotte first walked into Ethan’s clinic, they returned to the place where their story began.

The clinic was still there.

The beige walls had been repainted.

The cracked desk had been replaced.

But the building itself remained.

Ethan unlocked the front door.

Charlotte followed him inside.

“You kept the key.”

“Of course.”

“Why?”

“Because this place changed my life.”

She smiled.

Their daughter, now a teenager, walked through the waiting room.

“This is where you met?”

“Yes.”

“Mom came here and asked Dad to marry her?”

Charlotte laughed.

“That’s the simplified version.”

Elizabeth rolled her eyes.

“You’ve told me the story a hundred times.”

“Then you know it.”

“You were crazy.”

Ethan nodded.

“Absolutely.”

They walked into his old office.

The same desk remained.

The same window.

The same corner where Charlotte had placed the marriage certificate application.

Ethan stood there.

“I remember exactly where you stood.”

Charlotte smiled.

“And I remember thinking you were going to throw me out.”

“I almost did.”

“Why didn’t you?”

“You looked terrified.”

She touched his arm.

“You’ve never regretted it?”

“Not once.”

She kissed him.

Their daughter groaned.

“I’m leaving.”

They laughed.

Later that evening, the family returned home.

Ethan stood on the balcony.

Charlotte joined him.

The city lights stretched into the distance.

“Do you remember the first thing you asked me?”

Ethan smiled.

“Are you hurt?”

She laughed.

“And I said no.”

“You weren’t.”

“I was.”

He looked at her.

“Inside.”

She nodded.

“Very.”

They stood together.

For years, people had asked Charlotte how she managed to save a billion-dollar company.

She always gave them the same answer.

“I didn’t.”

“Who did?”

“My husband.”

But Ethan always corrected her.

“No.”

“We saved each other.”

That was the truth.

The marriage had begun as a desperate legal arrangement.

Three days.

One signature.

One billionaire inheritance.

One mysterious condition.

But beneath it was something neither of them understood.

Their fathers had spent years protecting a future they would never see.

They had hidden evidence.

Created trusts.

Left warnings.

And made one final gamble.

That their children would trust each other.

They did.

And somewhere between investigating a murder, exposing a corrupt empire, and pretending their marriage was temporary, Ethan and Charlotte fell in love.

Not because of money.

Not because of power.

Not because their fathers had arranged it.

Because when everything else was taken away, they still chose each other.

Charlotte reached for Ethan’s hand.

“Ready for dinner?”

“Always.”

They walked inside.

Their daughter was waiting at the table.

Three generations of history sat behind them.

A new generation sat before them.

And for the first time, there were no secrets left to uncover.

No hidden files.

No threats.

No locked safes.

No countdown.

Just a family.

A family that had begun with a strange request from a frightened heiress.

Three days to marry her.

A lifetime to discover why.

And a love neither of their fathers could have written into a will.
